Setup Guide
Xfinity
The Xfinity Stream app puts your live channels, DVR recordings and on-demand library on the devices you already own — no extra cable box needed. Activation takes a code from the TV and a sign-in on Xfinity's website.
What you'll need
- An active Xfinity TV or internet account
- Your Xfinity username and password
- A supported device: Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV/Android TV, or a recent Samsung or LG smart TV
- A phone or computer for the activation step
The steps
-
Install the app
Open the app store on your device (Roku Channel Store, Amazon Appstore, Apple App Store or Google Play) and search for 'Xfinity Stream'. Install the app published by Comcast.
-
Open the app and get the code
Launch Xfinity Stream and choose Sign In. The screen shows a six-character activation code and the address xfinity.com/authorize.
-
Activate on the web
On your phone or computer, go to xfinity.com/authorize, sign in with your Xfinity username and password, and enter the code. The TV screen advances on its own within a few seconds.
-
Name the device
Xfinity asks you to label the device ('Living Room Roku'). Clear names make it easier to manage authorized devices later.
-
Browse and set favorites
Open the Live TV guide, sign in to any network apps you use, and mark favorite channels so the guide opens to what you actually watch.
Worth knowing
- Your home Xfinity network unlocks the full channel lineup; away from home, some channels and recordings are limited by the networks.
- Too many authorized devices? Manage them under your Xfinity account online.
- DVR recordings live in the cloud — they follow the app to any device.
Common mistakes
- Entering the activation code on a lookalike site; only xfinity.com/authorize is legitimate.
- Using the Xfinity My Account app credentials confusion — the same login works, but the Stream app is the one for watching.
- Expecting out-of-home streaming to include every channel; network rules limit some content off your home network.
For account-specific or warranty issues, go straight to Xfinity's official support. FoxStream publishes guides and is not an official support channel for Xfinity.
